This week, I think I would like to walk back through some memories from the Mid to Late 1990’s.
Regular listeners are probably aware I used to work in several different record stores, In the mid to late ‘90’s I worked at Djangos in downtown Portland. The store was so big, we had two separate in store play stereo systems, one at either end of the store. I worked the buying counter at one end, and would often play records we had recently purchased on the turntable, while at the same time by the register and front counter some of the younger employees would play cd’s by Portishead, Massive Attack, Bent and quite a few other groups labeled as “trip hop” or “downtempo”. A lot of that music really hit home with me. I have fond memories of helping people locate a particular record, while grooving to a song by Bent. I hope you will enjoy the following “trip hop” or “downtempo” selections on today’s broadcast.
I Love My Man – Bent
