Host Bio

Austin Read

Host

Austin Read’s love affair with the world of cinema ignited in his youth, sparked by the mesmerizing spectacle of “The Lion King.” Since that pivotal moment, he’s remained an unwavering devotee of the silver screen. His favorite genres? They span the dramatic, the enigmatic, the heart-pounding suspense, and even the spine-tingling horrors, but Austin promises to go beyond just his preferences!  A true Vancouverite at heart, Austin has practically grown roots in this city, save for a brief stint in college (Go Eags!). When he’s not ensconced in the cinematic realm, you’ll find him exploring local pizzerias or gliding gracefully across the tranquil waters of Lacamas Lake in his trusty kayak.  He’s also a passionate advocate for traditional stage productions, with “Flowers for Algernon” holding a very special place in his heart.
