KXRW.FM Partner Spotlight: The Organ Grinder Documentary

Do you remember the Organ Grinder? The iconic Portland pizza parlor known for its grand Wurlitzer pipe organ, arcade games, silent films, bubbles, and even monkeys? A beloved local landmark, the Organ Grinder entertained families and music lovers for decades.

Now, a new documentary, Pipe Dreams and Pizza Crusts: The Rise and Fall of the Organ Grinder, is in production. This film will capture the magic and memories of the Organ Grinder, telling the story of its rise to fame and ultimate closure. The filmmakers are reaching out to the community for stories, home videos, photos, and news clippings that help bring this nostalgic piece of Portland history to life.

Additionally, a crowdfunding campaign is underway to support the project. You can learn more and get involved by visiting PipeDreamsFilm.com.

As a proud co-sponsor, KXRW.FM is thrilled to support this documentary that celebrates a unique piece of local history. Have a story to share? Questions about the project? Contact Bob Richardson at Diaphone Productions: 503-281-0515 or bob@diaphoneproductions.com.

Shout Outs

We are forever grateful for the many community members and local businesses who helped with the KXRW startup.  These community angels believed in us from the very beginning and in our shared passion to bring community radio back to SW Washington.  They understand the importance of having a local platform where we can educate, inform, entertain, engage in positive dialogue, share ideas and stories, highlight nonprofits doing amazing things, promote events and businesses.  This platform serves to provide a more open media and a more just community that listens and learns from each other which ultimately moves us all forward in a positive way.
