There was a time, between Elvis Presley going off to the Army & The Beatles, when interest in popular music was focused on Instrumentals & Surf music. There were hundreds of teenage bands inspired by the Ventures & The Shadows that learned to play twangy tremolo guitar, while their audiences did the stomp!
And Although the British Invasion wiped out the surf craze, interest in Surf and instrumental music never really disappeared. Today I am going to focus on some relatively contemporary Surf and Instrumental music.
