Folks flock by the bushels-full to Mount Hood in the late
summer, early fall to visit
TheHood River Valley
Harvest Festival. this year’s eventwill take place October 10-12.
I drove out to Hood River last month to get some peaches for
canning and for
well, eating. Crystal at Kiyokawa
Farms shared with me some mind boggling facts
about apple varieties, as well as wisdom about which peach varieties work best for
canning, grilling and well, eating.
I hope to get out to Hood River mid-October to geek out on pumpkin
carving, apple tasting, live music and to enjoy the abundance of the Pacific
Northwest fruit harvest. Thanks to all of the farmers and workers who bring us such bounty and deliciousness every year
