My guest today is Timothea Sutton, Executive Director for the Foundation for Vancouver Public Schools. The Foundation was founded by Jim Parsley, acclaimed Superintendent of Vancouver Public Schools from 1980-2002. The goal was to prepare all Vancouver students for the school day by identifying what students were lacking and providing that for them. It’s now a well-known idea that students who are not prepared for the school day will struggle to succeed academically. For almost 40 years, the Foundation for Vancouver Public Schools has teamed with teachers, parents, students, community members, and businesses to meet the needs of students who attend schools in the district.
