Flick Fix- The Sheep Detectives, Obsession, and Speed (1994) – 06/10/26

This episode of Flick Fix takes a wild leap from barnyard murder mysteries, to supernatural wish disasters, to a bus ride so stressful it should come with a complimentary blood pressure monitor. Austin starts with two recent releases: The Sheep Detectives, a mystery comedy about a flock of sheep trying to solve the murder of their shepherd, and Obsession, a supernatural horror film about a man who buys a wish-granting toy and immediately proves why some people should not be trusted with magic. Talking sheep and cursed romance: truly, this is why cinema can never be replaced by a normal hobby.

Then, for the Spotlight Review, Austin revisits the 1994 action classic Speed, directed by Jan de Bont and starring Keanu Reeves, Sandra Bullock, and Dennis Hopper. It’s the movie where a city bus cannot drop below 50 miles per hour or it explodes, which is basically the worst public transit experience imaginable, and that includes sitting next to someone eating tuna. Tune in for three films about murder, obsession, and high-speed panic. Or, in other words, one sheep mystery, one terrible wish, and one bus ride that makes your daily commute look like a spa day.
