KXRW Vancouver Presents

Archive of the Soul

A local radio show of musical journeys.

3rd Wednesdays at 9:00 - 10:00pm

Host Bio

Jared Hines

Host

Jared Hines was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest and is an amateur musician, conservation scientist, family man, and community service advocate. He has played guitar for over 30 years.

His passion and love for music shines and it drove him to start his music show on KXRW Vancouver where he focuses on stories, local connections, and the emotions and feelings that are integral to the musical artform. There is no human experience that can’t be told in a song, and Jared shares these ideas and more with b-side cuts, new stuff he’s been turned onto, or just anything that gets the hair on the back of his neck to stand up.

Behind the Show

Music has been an integral
part of my life since forever. Every milestone in my life has been marked with song. Every peak, every valley. Every meadow. Art saves lives, music saves lives. It’s probably saved mine more than once. But more than that, I just love good music so much that I want to share some of those experiences with the world and to help foster other musicians as they make their way in this modern landscape. I am an amateur musician myself and have modest aspirations to play some decent local gigs and to meet other similarly-minded people. I started taking music classes last year, advancing my playing ability dramatically, and in the process of networking and meeting folks I came across this opportunity to host my very own radio show, so I jumped at the chance!

About the Show

Archive of the Soul drives to connect local and regional artists with a broader audience and to share the emotions and truths that go into songwriting, performing, and even being a fan. The host, Jared Hines, brings a lifetime love of music to the music he shares. Every song has a story. Archive of the Soul explores the human side of music, while also diving into some of the more technical quirks and shop talk of being in this industry.

Archive of the Soul episodes often feature guest interviews and some of their work while always keeping the amazing playlists rolling.

Jared occasionally plays local open mics and other gigs and is always interested in meeting new folks that might want to collaborate or contribute to Archive of the Soul by being a guest or just jamming some time. HMU. Tune in every 3rd Wednesday of the month at 9pm Pacific.
