Midwives are traditionally in attendance during labor and delivery in Asia, Africa and Europe, but in the United States there are many misconceptions about their role. Mila Jenkins, Naomi O’Callahan and Serenity Quiggle, practice midwifery at Vancouver Community Midwives. Naomi and Serenity help us understand their role as modern clinicians, the sacred nature of childbirth and the impact their services have on reducing maternal and infant deaths.
